What is a BOSIET Training?
What does BOSIET stands for? What does BOSIET mean? What is T-BOSIET training? These are the typical questions we often been asked.
BOSIET stands for Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training, and is the foundation of working safely offshore approved by OPITO. This course covers critical offshore-related safety regulations, escaping different emergencies, sea survival and fire fighting through four modules:
- Safety Induction
- Helicopter Safety and Escape
- Sea Survival
- Fire Fighting and Self Rescue

What is T-BOSIET training? Is it different with BOSIET?
T-BOSIET stands for Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training. The addition “tropical” is what sets this certificate apart from the regular BOSIET. Working in the tropics brings specific challenges when it comes to risk assessment and handling. This course equips personnel to handle risk in tropical regions of the world.

What is BOSIET HUET course?
HUET stands for Helicopter Underwater Escape Training.
Do I need to take HUET and BOSIET? No, HUET is actually one of the module in BOSIET. The HUET practical is the most exciting part where you get to experience different emergency scenarios of a helicopter emergency - focusing specifically on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.

What is FOET course?
FOET stands for Further Offshore Emergency Training or also called as BOSIET refresher.
Similar T-BOSIET, T-FOET is specific for the tropic region.

How long is BOSIET Training?
Find out the duration of BOSIET, T-BOSIET, FOET and T-FOET.
BOSIET or T-BOSIET duration is 3 days whereas the refresher (FOET or T-FOET) is 1 day.
The course last for 4 years. Meaning, you only have to take the refresher course every 4 years. Make sure you take the course before the expiry date. Exceeding the expiry date, you will have to take the 3-day BOSIET or T-BOSIET again.
However, if you enrol BOSIET at any of MSTS Asia or RelyOn Nutec, you will receive reminders to ensure you don't miss out the important date!

What is the BOSIET requirement?
No training pre-requisites are required however in order to take the refresher course, you must have a validate BOSIET.
